Our Story

Redstone Consulting Group, LLC (RCG, LLC), is a wholly owned subsidiary (CUSO – Credit Union Service Organization) of Redstone Federal Credit Union. Based in Huntsville, Alabama, RFCU is the largest credit union in the state and among the 25 largest credit unions in the United States. With more than 380,000 members and $4 billion in assets, RFCU recognizes that what it solves for Redstone also benefits others in the industry: “Solve for Redstone, Solve for Many”™. With that in mind, RFCU launched Redstone Consulting Group in May 2012. For more than five years, RCG has provided tailored software, cybersecurity expertise, and more to financial institutions throughout the country.

Our Leadership Team

Steve Powers

President and CEO

Steve Powers is an executive with more than 30 years of business and technology management experience spanning several industries. He has developed multiple lines of business and successfully managed profitability, sales, service delivery, custom application development, technology deployment, IT operations, and IT support for clients and internal operations. His undertaking of progressively more challenging roles in business and technical management culminated in a role simultaneously leading Transportation, GeoSpatial, and IT Services business units. He has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and MBA with a concentration in Management Science from Michigan State University.

Jim Bray

Business Development

Jim Bray has more than 20 years of sales experience in the banking industry. He brings in-depth knowledge of bank operations and knowledge of new technology and the impact that it will have on bank fraud operations and profits. He is backed by an exceptional background in sales and sales management in the technology and software development sectors with a focus on solutions sales. He enjoys building long-term relationships by educating members on key industry issues and innovation that increases their profitability and lowers risk.

Clive Waugh

Cyber Practice Lead

Clive Waugh is a seasoned information and cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in establishing IT governance, risk management, compliance, business continuity, and information security assessments and auditing. As RCG’s senior principal security consultant, he assesses and remediates PCI DSS, implements BCP, writes security policies and procedures, reviews the security posture of organizations, and advises on enhancements, while ensuring strict compliance with government regulations such as HIPAA, GLBA & SOX. Clive studied symphonic composition and orchestration at Juilliard and holds numerous IT and security certifications.

Brenda Pearce

Marketing Director

Brenda Pearce has more than 25 years of experience in marketing for a range of industries, from software to personal finance to audiovisual equipment. This professional experience has enabled her to develop keen knowledge and skills in areas such as strategic planning, business development, sales training, partner channels, customer prospecting, campaign development, and messaging. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and an MBA in marketing from Auburn University.

Alan A. Hunt

Assistant Vice President, Development

Alan Hunt is a software architect and executive with more than 15 years of software engineering experience. His expertise in development life cycle management comes from a background in government contracting and commercial software. Most recently as a software architect for Hexagon PPM, he led a multi-team effort to design and build modern web solutions for design document management. He has a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from Auburn University.
